The Requirements
To be a strong fit for this opportunity you will have:- A minimum of 2 years of edge and core network experience in an enterprise/datacenter environment. NOC/ISP experience is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience working in IT operation focusing on routing and switching, networking troubleshooting in a datacenter/enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP.

- Specialties NOC / Process writing skills or training a plus.
- Experience in Monitoring Theory / Implementation a plus.
- Experience in Customer Service.
- Experience in current Internet network hardware and software technologies.
- Diagnostic experience of a variety of monitoring applications such as Solarwinds, Nagios.
- Ability to multi-task, think critically, and communicate effectively to team members, leadership and service providers both verbally and in writing.

- Experience working within a cable provider environment.
- Experience working with third party circuit providers.
- Industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, and/or CCDP.
- Vendor certifications on any Optical platform (ie: Motorola, ZTE, Alcatel etc).
- Scripting ( shell, expect, php, Python, etc.)
The Role
You will collect performance statistics on the reliability and efficiency of networks. All of our incident tickets are generated for exceptions and managed for the lifetime of the incident, and you will be responsible for troubleshooting all level 2 incidents and escalating them to higher levels as needed. You will also detect outages and remedies, as you operate with a high degree of independence and with minimal supervision in a secure environment.
You’ll join a talented team of level I and II NOC Engineers as well as one or two other Lead Engineers. You will act as a coach and mentor to the junior Engineers on the team.
Specifically, a sampling of your most important tasks will be to:
- Monitor production network environment using a combination of monitoring tools to ensure availability.
- Coordinate field router intrusive and non-intrusive testing and repair of circuits.
- Coordinate onsite dispatch of Telecommunication vendor repair services.
- Respond to automated alerts from monitoring tools according to procedure. Use diagnostic tools to ascertain level and criticality of problem. Discover faults and conditions in a proactive manner. Diagnose cause where appropriate and resolve expeditiously.
- Escalate issues and problems according to procedures and best judgment.
